A lot of the music I have loved over the years has been ruined by lame, unimaginative advertising. I find myself changing the radio station when I hear songs like "Happy Jack" by the Who. Do you suppose the commercial gurus really believe that if you play a once timeless and popular song, it will sell more stuff??!! Personally, I am put off by it. I can't listen some of my albums now because they remind me of things like H2 and toilet bowl cleaner!! Sorry, for the rant, just a little frustrated with the way things are!
Anyone ever hear of "The Point", by Harry Nillson?? An audio story, with songs, of a boy who didn't look like everyone else and was shunned for it. Good story with a good message. Great music too. I had the record when I was a kid, and recently found it on cd. I sent it to some of the younger children in my family for Christmas. There was a cartoon movie made of it as well, narrated by Ringo Starr. TTFN
